On 17th March, 2015 in Molinella took place a special ceremony. Ignazio Boschetto was honoured in the Council Room of Molinella, city where he lived several years before moving to Marsala with his family.
The initiative was promoted by Giovanni Rallo, who is the owner of the construction company of San Pietro Capofiume. In that company Ignazio’s father Vito Boschetto has worked.
Maurizio Rizzi did the interview and Giuseppe Rallo – Ignazio’s uncle – uploaded the videos on his Facebook page. The complete ceremony and interview was aired on 21st March on TeleModena.
We made a special article about this: Ignazio Boschetto honored in Molinella including a translation of the video to English.
Il Resto del Carlino in its newspaper edition published a nice article about the ceremony:
:: Ignazio Boschetto torna nella sua Bassa tra applausi e abbracci di amici e parenti – by Matteo Radogna – il Resto del Carlino (March 20, 2015 in Italian)
Our thanks to Patrizia Breveglieri from the Segreteria di Redazione of the QN-il Resto del Carlino that so kindly answered our request providing this report.
Ignazio Boschetto was received as the prodigal son when he returns to Molinella, where he lived for many years in his childhood. About two thousands people crowded the Council Room to greet Ignazio and to immortalize the moment with a ‘selfie’. And Ignazio attended all the people, shaking hands, hugging and remembering the ‘old times’.
The Molinella Calcio brought him a a jersey with his name and the Mayor gave him a photographic album with beautiful images of the city. The teachers of Ignazio were there and told that their talent was evident since very young. Ignazio was accompanied by his mother and some relatives and received almost an hour of applause, this time without singing.
At the end of the ceremony the way to leave was long because Ignazio met a lot of girls, all waiting in line to talk to him. And he had a word for everyone, an anti-divo, the celebrity did not change him.
