Il Volo - English Bio

In 2009, the public who attended the Italian talent show “Ti lascio una Canzone” was delighted when three of the participants sang together “O’ Sole Mio”, but few realized they were witnessing the birth of a phenomenon. After that, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble would never be the same and also the world of music. Across the Atlantic a singer, composer and world famous producer acknowledged he was in for something new and fantastic and immediately set in motion a whole process which in a few months turn those three boys in Il Volo.

Thanks to the fantastic idea of the director Roberto Cenci in the 4th episode of “Ti lascio una Canzone” and the judgment and experience of the producer Tony Renis the world received the Il Volo – the Italian pop lyrical group (or operatic pop) formed by Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto (tenors) and Gianluca Ginoble (baritone).

Tony Renis told that, marveled at what he saw on that episode of the talent show, immediately contacted the families and formed a real team: from the producer Humberto Gatica, through Michele Torpedine – visionary and experienced producer of Andrea Bocelli – to Peter Lopez who had contacts with Interscope/Geffen. Since then Michele Torpedine is their mentor and main support of Il Volo career.

    • I too am a grandma, Inga, and we grandmas seem to all share the same things when it comes to IL VOLO. Everything about them is so beautiful and the way they became IL VOLO is itself such a beautiful thing. And as with most beautiful things, I can never once watch or listen to them without crying but it’s good tears. Like their song, they are painfully beautiful. I think our generation especially is so hungry for something genuine in this crazy world of ours and people everywhere actually, of any generation, whether or not they are conscious of it, and IL VOLO is the embodiment of all that is genuine and beautiful and missing in our world today. And I think that is at the heart of all that we feel and just cannot explain about our obsession with these boys. Also the motherly instinct kicks in and we all share that same pride as if they belonged to us and the same worries about them. And I don’t think I have ever scrolled through a list of comments that I don’t read someone expressing the same feelings and so many have said they feel as if they have been sent by God Himself to bring us joy and brighten this world. Oh, like you, I will be a fan as long as I live and now I hope to live longer. I pray they will always be true and protected from harm. I just had to share this with you.

I want to let you know that I appreciate it very much to have the boys being described in this very good style of writing and describing their behavior and attitude so well.
