The trio after the show has been received by the Maestro’s granddaughter.
They leave in the coral red Range Rover with which they arrived together with their manager Michele Torpedine, with the Giacomo Puccini museum guide in their hands: one for each one, with even Simonetta Puccini personal dedication.
She in person, the granddaughter of the Maestro, the lady founder of the Giacomo Puccini Foundation, received in the composer home in Puccini Belvedere square at Torre del Lago Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, also known as Il Volo.
Protagonists of two sold out concerts at Festival Puccini, the “three little tenors” who were born six years ago from the tv show “Ti lascio una canzone” and launched toward a dazzling career, did want to visit yesterday afternoon the home Museum of the Maestro Puccini and have had in the person of Maestro Puccini granddaughter Simonetta a special guide. She explained room after room, characteristics, habits and curiosities of the life of such an illustrious grandfather.
«An immense emotion – confesses Gianluca, the most “American” of the trio – here at Torre del Lago and here in this home, there is the history of the music, an huge “baggage” of treasures and memories. It is an experience that I won’t forget. To me is like to visit Elvis Presley home. These are the strong sensations that one always brings with him».
Touched, perhaps a bit more than the others, Piero, the most “lyric” of the three. He, who has in the set list during the concert the tribute to Giacomo Puccini with the performance of “E lucevan le stelle” from Tosca, has no doubts: «Singing at Torre del Lago is an immense emotion, bigger than others. Above all to me, who I was brought up in the opera. I had never been in this place and it is a debut that fills my heart».
He does not even cross the threshold of the Home Museum yet that immediately asks to see the piano, that, or actually, those, because are two piano – where the Maestro for thirty years played and composed his very famous opera works; inquires about the musical scores, while Gianluca comments Puccini hand writing, comparing it with his own.
A step in the Chapel where Puccini’s remains are buried, then the goodbyes and the usual pictures taken. And above all the promise to come back, even because the Versilia brought to Il Volo the load of esteem of the almost 8 thousands spectators and the possibility, if only their schedule had permitted it, to add a third date, given the many requests arrived to the Foundation.
«We will be back: it’s a promise!» they affirm, before give some time to the clump of fans gathered at the villa’s gate.
