In the beginning of 2010 Il Volo was invited by Quincy Jones to represent Italy, participating on the Single We Are The World: 25 for Haiti along with several artists, like Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand. This Single was recorded and released on February, 2010 in benefit of Haiti due the earthquake which almost destroyed the country on January.
A few days after, on February 17, they performed on the 60º Festival de Sanremo and sang to Rania, the Queen of Jordan. On July, still as “Il Trio”, they performed on the magnificent Arena di Verona in Italy.
On November 30, 2010 Il Volo released their debut Album in Italy – Il Volo, in honor of their new name, after signing an international contract with Universal Music Group. They are the first Italian artists to sign with a major label of the United States of America – Geffen, Universal’s label. The Album was produced by Tony Renis and by the worldwide known producer Humberto Gatica.
On December 7, 2010 in Paris, Il Volo began the promotional tour of their first Album, a tour that included the main cities of Europe and US. On the second half of the month they performed on Larry King Live – CNN – on the farewell show of the conductor – on December 17th and on December 19th on the XXI edizione di Telethon in Italy.
